Over $1 Million in Third-Party Testing
GoNano™ is one of the most independently tested products in roofing. Below is the certified performance data — the UL and ASTM standards, what each one proves, and the official documentation to hand your insurance company.
Better Than a Brand-New Shingle
These are the certified results for GoNano NuRoof Revive™ & Fortify™ applied to a 15-year-old roof — compared against a typical shingle at the time it was installed new.

Where the $1M+ Went
Independent laboratories, recognized standards, and molecular-level verification — not in-house marketing claims.
UL 2218
Impact-resistance testing — demonstrates superior resistance to hail damage.
ASTM D3161
Wind-standards testing — validates performance under extreme wind conditions.
UL 790
Fire-standards testing — proves GoNano does not adversely affect fire resistance.
Green Centre Chemistry
Impact study — GoNano reduces impact penetration depth.
IBHS
Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety — granule loss, tear strength, and impact resistance.
CNETE
FTIR molecular analysis — measurable anti-aging performance (reduced oxidation markers).
The Official Submittal Spec Sheet
Every GoNano™ installation is documented on the official Submittal Specification Sheet. It records the property, the product applied, and both warranties — alongside the certified performance results above — in the format insurance carriers and underwriters expect.
Only one sheet is authorized
GoNano™ recognizes only its own submittal sheet. Documentation created, modified, or co-branded by a contractor or third party is not endorsed by GoNano™ and should never be submitted to an insurance provider in its place. Carriers can verify any sheet’s authenticity directly with GoNano™.
We complete and provide this sheet for every job — you don’t have to chase it down. Want to see it first?
Premium credits for impact-resistant roofing are determined solely by your insurance carrier. We supply the documentation; your carrier decides. See Texas insurance trends for context on what’s changing.
Testing & Documentation FAQ
How much testing has GoNano been through?
Over $1 million has been invested in third-party testing and scientific validation — including UL 2218 impact testing, ASTM D3161 wind testing, UL 790 fire testing, impact work with Green Centre Chemistry, testing with the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS) for granule loss, tear strength and impact resistance, and FTIR molecular analysis by CNETE.
What documentation do I give my insurance company?
The official GoNano™ Submittal Specification Sheet. It records the property, product applied, and warranty terms alongside the certified performance results (UL 2218, ASTM D3161, ASTM E108, ASTM D7158, ASTM D3462, ASTM D4329). It is the only submittal document GoNano authorizes — GoNano does not recognize substitute or contractor-created sheets submitted to insurers.
What does UL 2218 Class 3+ actually mean?
UL 2218 grades a shingle’s impact resistance by dropping steel balls on it, from Class 1 (weakest) to Class 4 (highest). A typical new shingle passes at Class 2. GoNano-treated shingles on a 15-year-old roof are certified to exceed at Class 3+ — better impact resistance than a brand-new standard shingle.
Will treating my roof affect its fire rating?
No. UL 790 fire testing was performed specifically to confirm GoNano does not adversely affect fire resistance, and treated assemblies meet ASTM E108 fire-resistance requirements. Because GoNano penetrates the shingle rather than forming a surface film, the roof keeps its original fire classification.
Does a treated roof help with hail insurance claims?
Impact resistance is one of the factors carriers use to assess hail loss exposure, and many insurers offer premium credits for higher impact classifications. Eligibility is always determined by your carrier — we provide the official documentation so they can evaluate it.
